The Five Precepts: Reiki in Central London

What is Reiki?

Blue Lotus(pronounced Ray-Key). Reiki is the Japanese word for Universal Life Force. Rei means spiritual or universal and Ki means life force, or energy, which flows in and around every living thing. This energy can be referred to as ‘chi’ which flows through the body’s energy channels, or meridians.

Although Reiki has been presented as a treatment technique in the West since the 1970s, in 1920’s Japan it was originally taught as a self-healing method and path to enlightenment, by its founder Mikao Usui, a Tendai Buddhist.

This intelligent energy promotes healing by finding its way to wherever it is needed. It works on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels, restoring balance and bringing a sense of calm, clarity and well-being.

Reiki can be used by anyone irrespective of their beliefs. It is suitable for all age groups and states of health. Reiki is powerful, yet gentle and safe. It can be used alongside other forms of treatment, both conventional and complementary in supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

:

You may wish to consider the five Reiki Precepts, Mikao Usui's guidelines for life, which recommend that we live in the moment:

JUST FOR TODAY
Do not anger
Do not worry
Be humble
Be honest in your dealings with people
Be compassionate towards yourself and others.

The relevance of the precepts in our daily lives is discussed on the First Degree Reiki course.

While Reiki can bring long-term benefits and produce changes for you on many levels, it is not a substitute for medical treatment.  If you do have any symptoms of illness, you should see your doctor.

A Reiki practitioner will not diagnose or recommend any form of treatment.
